What we sow

“What we sow”

Everyone knows
we reap
what we
sow

except

when the
sparrows
find your
baby lettuces

the robin
eats your peas

or the landlord
sells your home
in June

And then
there are
the gifts –

who sowed
the salmon
the rain
the sudden insight

or spontaneous healing

Not me

We reap
what we
sow

Thank god
it isn’t
always
true
